Brian Davis, American (1946 - )
Born in 1946 in Burbank, California, Brian lived most of his life in the San Fernando Valley outside of Los Angeles until his relocation to Reno, Nevada.. After a stint in the Army, (1967 to 1969) , he attended California State University Los Angeles. In his senior year, he left college to pursue an art career and never looked back.
Painting from his own photographs, Brian Davis' uncanny technique for illuminating natural flowers and landscapes with radiant light and texture on his canvases is a very special artistic talent. Davis is inspired by images of highly stylized renditions of birds and flowers and their intensity of color achieved by multiple layers of paint. Davis is greatly influenced by the Dutch Masters, along with the artists of the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods.
He is primarily self-taught and his art is sold in dozens of galleries world.
