This seascape is one of his most popular works of all time. The Artist Proof limited edition print sold out at $20,000 and the original sold for $225,000. Although very few people worldwide know the secret story behind this work of art.
Christian painted it while grieving the loss of his brother. There are 14 hidden hearts in the scene. Angel dolphins are hidden in the sky. His brother's wife sits on the seawall in disbelief, looking out at the horizon hoping for her husband's return. The home in the art is Christian's own home and he is at his easel in the window, painting this scene. Written in the sand are the words, "I miss you." It is the only work of art that Christian Lassen has hidden all his family's initials in the scene; father, mother, sister, and the initials of his beloved brother.
Therefore, this particular seascape and the title "Eternal Embrace" has a deep significance to his family because of this secret story behind this work of art. This is probably the most meaningful work Christian Riese Lassen ever painted in over 30 years. Framed 53.5'' x 2.5' 'x 41.5'' unframed 35.25' 'x 23.5''.
