Todd White, American (1969 - )
Michael Todd White was born in San Antonio, Texas in 1969. He is a figurative expressionist painter who is a self-described “observational artist” and known to the public for his “Rat-Pack meets Picasso” style of art.
After relocating to Hollywood, he worked for Warner Bros Studios. Through character development, White began to forge his own artistic style and became part of the lead character design and animation team for the internationally renowned cartoon series Sponge Bob Square Pants.
White privately experimented with both style and concept eventually arriving at a process that he uses today on each work. He names his works first; visualizes faces and personalities and then he develops each person's story. Hands are a focal point for White, reflecting the subject's state of mind, as much as body language or facial expression.
Todd White creates timeless scenes of diverse attraction and of known intimacy, within the exaggerated features and textured skin of his characters lies truth, both yours and theirs.. White's paintings are captivating, demanding a second look often evoking humor or thoughts of familiar feelings.
His work has caught the attention and imagination of collectors around the World, in addition to many Hollywood celebrities. This has given him the reputation, as not only an exhilarating and revered artistic talent, but also something of a style icon - the creator of highly collectable and much sought items of designer decor.
