Francois (Fanch) Ledan, French, (1949 - )
Born in France in 1949, François Ledan studied art at the Ecole Superieure des Sciences Commerciales. In 1972, he attended Sacramento State University and started to display his original acrylic paintings in galleries in California and New York.
Fanch Ledan draws on the rhythms and elements from our contemporary visual environment to forge a distinctly original, late twentieth-century vision. His vivid images are totally contemporary with classical nuances and the brightly streamlined look of modern media.
His Interiorscapes, which are the marriage of interior and exterior setting, are the recurring theme in much of Fanch Ledan's work. Ledan's 'windows on the world" concept functions to bring the usual background elements into key focal points. Because interiors are generally uninhabited by human figures, we focus on the way Fanch Ledans' rooms blend art and architecture to form a balanced and harmonious elegance.
Fanch’s artwork has been admired by collectors internationally from Japan, Australia, Europe and the United States.
