Teppei Sasakura, Japanese (1954 - )

Teppei Sasakura is a Japanese artist born in Hyogo Perfecture and he is considered a Master Deptiture of Serenity & Light. He graduated from the Commercial Design Department of Musashino University of Art. He became an illustrator after some experience working as a graphic designer. Sasalira decided to freelance and from 1980 to 1990, he produced over 200 illustrations mainly for Morinaga & Co. Ltd.

His serigraphs brought widespread acclaim and acceptance into Japan's mainstream art scene. Blending Japan's traditional sense of beauty with his illustration technique, Teppei has created a unique artwork that employs light in a magical way. His artwork portrays tranquility and happiness - daily lives enveloped by the special warmth of light. This light, which exudes kindness and comfort, has attracted the hearts of both men and women, young and old. He has had many exhibitions worldwide.
