This painting is historic in that it was the very first Varga Girl ever published by Esquire magazine. It appeared as a gatefold in the October 1940 issue. This blonde beauty, whispering words of passion while lying on a bed of satin, introduced our nation to Alberto Vargas' legendary all-American girl, images that would become a part of our culture for many decades.

Release Notes: This image was printed in two different editions to offer a choice of finishes. The Arches Edition was printed on ARCHES Watercolor paper, an archival, 100% cotton paper used by professional artists for centuries. The Deluxe Edition was printed on a patented archival paper called Opalesque which has a surface that emulates the look and feel of silk.

Collector's Notes: Originally published as an Esquire Gatefold in October, 1940.
